Violation of Bell Inequalities with Entangled Photon Pairs: Experimental Implementation and Analysis

>_ Abstract
This thesis presents an experimental implementation of Bell inequality tests using polarization-entangled photon pairs generated via spontaneous parametric down-conversion. We achieve a CHSH inequality violation of S = 2.73 ±0.04, exceeding the classical bound of 2 by 18 standard deviations. The apparatus uses a type-II BBO crystal, single-photon avalanche detectors, and a coincidence counting system with 3 ns timing window. We discuss systematic error sources and their mitigation.
